Once again, I have discovered that my posts have been shamefully copied without my permission on a website, pictures and text and all. I might have to change my rss feed as I am having difficulty figuring out how to change my current one. It is disgusting when you spend so much work documenting your time and someone just lifts it for nothing. Last night I was so upset, I considered deleting my blog and giving up this project that I have built up over the years.

Oh god no, don't do that Lisa! That will just let them win. It is good you are letting people know about it though. Just remember how much you are appreciated and how people enjoy coming to your blog to try out your recipes. Don't let an idiot spoil that, there will always be some of those around where ever you go.
ReplyDeleteI'm disappointed for you. I guess there's not much to do about it from a legal perspective? I really enjoy your blog and you are my go-to site for all things mung!
ReplyDeleteNO!!! Don't do that!! Do update your copyright info at the bottom of the page (to 2010).
ReplyDeleteAnd do file a complaint wherever the stuff ended up. Email the webmaster or something. Every site has "you must own this content" privacy and terms of use statements.
Also email them and let them know that you request attribution and granted permission if YOUR content is to be used.
And then, just remember that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and that there are a LOT of us who really appreciate your site and love trying out your recipes!!! As Jacqueline said, don't let an idiot spoil it for you and us!
I just found this blog the other night. Why on earth would someone plagiarize a blog? If someone compliments the creep on their food skills, how can they take pride in it? That's nuts. Ugh. People are just baffling sometimes.
ReplyDeleteWhy would u want to give up on YOUR hardwork for such shameless ppl? You have an awesome readership and we know who the true owner is...
ReplyDeleteDont EVEN think of deleting this blog - please!
Please please don't delete your blog - there are so many of your recipes I want to try and so much inspiration in these pages!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that you have been upset by these shameless thieves. I like sue's idea about complaining about it so that those hosting their site know what is being done. It would seem much fairer for their site to be taken down. Maintain the rage but don't stop posting your fantastic recipes
Lisa, don't let them win. Fight back. We should all together find ways to prevent them from stealing our content.
ReplyDeleteplease dot do that Lisa i love your recipes.......fealing bad for you
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind support. I am working on getting the content deleted but I am frustrated.
ReplyDeleteOh Lisa, I am so sorry to read this! I have been reading your blog for YEARS now and find inspiration in it all the time. If you delete it, you let those people win. And that is the last thing we want! It is definitely frustrating. I can't imagine why someone would do something like this!
ReplyDeleteLisa, unethical people can steal your words and pictures but they cannot steal or even touch your creativity and your talent and your passion for food. Don't let them get to you. Please! Your work is much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteThat's awful Lisa. :(
ReplyDeleteLisa,
ReplyDeleteFight back, some are stealing others hard work. Don't worry about plagiarisms. Make they culprits pay for what they did.

ReplyDeleteThat is such an awful thing to do, I'm so sorry someone did that to you, and that it wasn't the first time. I love your blog and your recipes, and I don't understand how someone could blatantly steal from it and pass it off as their own.
ReplyDeletePlease don't let them get to you - you have so many readers that appreciate what you do!
Name and shame the guilty one! I can't believe some people when they shamelessly stoop so low.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is brilliant - don't you dare stop it!
Lots of hugs to you and chin up!

ReplyDeleteDear Lisa, I had left a comment here earlier, not sure if you got it. Please don't let those unethical people get you. We love your blog and your recipes, so please continue to do so.
ReplyDeleteNooooooo! That is horrible. That's a whole lot of bad karma coming to the plagiarist. Lame. Please don't delete your blog. I never post blog comments anywhere, but this post really made me feel for you and I wanted to let you know how much I LOVE your blog and your amazing recipes. Thank you for all of the great posts and great recipes!
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't delete your blog. It has been a terrific source for ideas and inspiration. And it is nice to have a reminder that yes, there are other vegetarians in London ON.
ReplyDeletePlease know that the good does outweigh the bad. I love your blog and you are imparting so much great information! Imitation definitely is the greatest form of flattery. I hope you will keep enriching our lives with your recipes and insights.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate all of the support and encouragement I am getting here. I am touched. Thank you! I am taking steps to get my content removed from the offending blog.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to read that this has been sorted out now. It must be a horrible feeling to see someone else passing your work off as their own.
ReplyDeleteDon't let them win!
Lisa, I would say...publicly shame them and the people who r putting on copied content....pllllllease dont stop posting!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree. Plagiarizing can be really annoying especially when you have put so much hard work in to it. In this technological age it's happen very often. This leads to the original website owner losing page rankings, traffic and revenue. Theft of website content is a rapidly growing problem and owners should check their content frequently to find out whether it is being used somewhere else.
