I'm delighted to offer a copy of the classic SPICES poster designed by Chef and Spice Master Tim Ziegler and Tea King Brian Keating. The second edition of the SPICES full-color poster, measuring 24" x 36", illustrating 189 spices, herbs, capsicums and seeds, is now available through MondoFood.com. The good news for my readers is that one lucky winner residing in either Canada or the US has a chance to win a copy that normally retails at $19.99.
This would be an ideal gift for the upcoming Father's Day for those special dads who love to cook and explore a variety of spices and herbs in the kitchen. Many of you have likely seen this poster displayed around restaurants, kitchens and culinary schools around the world. Now you have a chance to get a copy for your own reference or as a special gift for the culinary inspired one in your life. It's designed for professionals and experienced home cooks and beginners too. It's an excellent resource.
And it is gorgeous in addition to having instructional and inspirational value. Just have a look. Think of that as a poster to adorn your kitchen.

Cumin makes everything tastier!
ReplyDeleteGreat poster! I would not do well without black pepper. And thyme is my favorite herb.
ReplyDeleteThyme is amazing; I always put extra, especially in chicken soups. Black pepper on EVERYTHING. Good fresh bay leaves on, oh let's say, a margarita pizza -- to die for. Garlic with alllmost everything.
ReplyDeleteIt's too hard to choose a favourite!
Also followed you on twitter (@sandyroohoo). Please use the email sandyroo[at]live[dot]com to contact if I am chosen! :D
ReplyDeleteEverything tastes better with garlic ;-)
ReplyDeleteAwesome poster! Fav spice - garam masala (cinnamon+clove+cardamom ground together). Tiny bit adds flavor to any dish.

I love the combination of cumin, garlic, oregano, and lime. It's a Florida twist on "mojo".
ReplyDeleteMy favorite for a long time was cumin, but lately I've been loving smoked paprika!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite herb has always been fresh basil!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite spice is Oregano.
ReplyDeleteSo difficult to narrow down a favorite. Fresh ground black pepper, basil, and my own smoky sweet curry blend.
ReplyDeleteI seem to use cumin in almost everything. I love the smokiness it lends to savoury dishes.
ReplyDeleteooh...favorite? Cinnamon or Basil...Gotta go with cinnamon...I put it in fruit smoothies, mix it with nut butters for spreads, add it to my curries, love it in chili, sprinkle it on fresh cut oranges,...on and on. YUM!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lisa, for the opportunity to win such a gorgeous poster. Reminds me of my heirloom tomato poster in my kitchen!! :)

Ummm--Rosmary, Cumin, Coriander & Cinnamon!
ReplyDeleteSo difficult to choose one favorite, because there are so many wonderful herbs & spices. A new favorite herb for me is Aleppo Pepper, which I got from Penzeys Spices. I also love pineapple sage. Favorite spices include cinnamon and coriander. Thanks for the opportunity to win this fabulous poster!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite spice is smokey paprika--I use it almost daily! My favorite herb is basil, at least partly because having a window basil garden makes the whole kitchen smell better.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite herb is Asofoetida!!!
ReplyDeleteThat poster looks awesome, my favorite herb(s) curry leaves, basil; favorite spice cumin!
ReplyDeleteThough I have many favorites, I think sweet basil ranks right up at the top!
ReplyDeleteI've been playing with paprika lately, both smoked and sweet. It always scared me, but then I'm a seventies child and remember it mostly as flavorless orange powder on top of mayonnaise salads. LOL What a difference some experience, not to mention freshness, makes!
ReplyDeletePaprika, all varieties but especially the sweet.

ReplyDeleteI've just discovered Thyme! All these years I've avoided it, not knowing anything about it... only to recently find out that it is *delicious* in soups, stews, chicken dishes, scrambled eggs... you name it! I now realize I need to learn much more about spices and herbs... :-)
